Now you are a marketer and you know there can be no strategy without any goal. Goals are the foundation of your strategy, something like what we called about the base for building and guiding every decision and tactic that comes next. But how can anyone define those goals? Good question. The answer is, there’s a lot to consider if we are talking about an industry, overall business objectives, budget and resources and much more.

Here are a few things that should be kept in mind before making a social media goals:

1. Social media goals represents your whole marketing objectives

Hmm. You have to know that the social media marketing efforts are an integral and intimate part of your whole marketing strategy. It means, tries to go big with your objective or either set your goals high, like quixotic. It’s as simple as like your social media goals should absolutely map your all marketing objectives.

2. Get to know your social audience

You can have everything if you able to understand your social media audiences and for what they were there. You have to get a detailed knowledge of what their interests and needs and motivation. But as the psychology says humans are the most complex thing to study for, so try to know their interest if they search you on the net.

3. Grab the whole market

Here comes the most important thing, every social media channel has their types of the audience there. Like what Facebook offers is a bit different from what WhatsApp have and it is totally different from Twitter. A little unique everyone has. So you have to make a different strategy for every social media. And your goals, the strategy to accomplish those goals,  should be unique.

4. Knowledge of audience expectation

You have to make it clear for yourself that the goals you are setting is a particular type of audience and not for the whole market. Hey… but before you start making the strategies you should know what your audience expects from you and how you’ll meet them. What will it be, quick customer service, conversation, entertainment or helpful information?

5. Knowledge of your own expectation

Generally, social media marketing goals are considered to be just brand awareness and audience engagement. But make sure to make it consistently as you reach deeper and deeper. I can make you understand it more clearly, for example, your goal is customer engagement, what are your expectations then, likes or shares or comments or reviews or website traffic individually or a combination of all.

6. Measurable or quixotic goals

You should make your goal practical, in the sense of achievable. Of course because how else you are going to know whether you achieved your target or not.

This basic thing you have to keep in your mind before setting social media goals. And good luck for your business.
